Default One User For Multiple Databases

I have multiple WordPress sites and I have heard that when creating databases for WP sites you should create a new user for each one, because using just 1 user on multiple DB posses a security threat. Can someone elaborate on this? Thanks.

You are right, it is a security threat, because if someone hacks one of your users than he can exploit all your databases. So be sure to create a different user and assign his permissions for each database.

Not sure what user do you mean? Do you mean on your admin user for the WordPress blog or do you mean user that is connected to the MySQL database?

I think it is about the user connected to the MySQL database. I agree with CustomServer, it is just to make the hackers work harder if they want to abuse your blogs. It's even better if time by time you change the passwords.

Yes I guess so. This is why I changed all the data across my databases and created a new user for each one. It took me a while but I guess it's worth it.

I got this good advice a long time ago and I stick to it fiercely. It's not wise to put all your eggs in one basket. Spread them around, it's safer. ;)
