Default phpmyadmin

Until recently, I've never bothered much with MySQL databases but now I need to do some work in phpmyadmin. I am using phpmyadmin because thats what my hosting service has. I was just wondering if there are any guides that can help me understand the terms better. Also, the interface of phpmyadmin looks rather poorly done; is there anyway to change that?

Have you read through the PhpMyAdmin Wiki? If you already have some knowledge regarding MySQL databases, you might be able to fill in the gaps and find other resources there.

I'm not sure how much experience you have with MySQL databases. If you're a beginner, trying googling "MySQL for Beginners." You should be able to find a few comprehensive articles.

In my research I have come across quite a few sites, some are completely dedicated to PhpMyAdmin, so you may want to google and then sift through the choices and then choose what is best for you.

Actually phpMyAdmin is just a user-interface for administering MySQL. Without phpMyAdmin, you will deal with the complicated MySQL scripts. The good source to refer is the Docs section on phpmyadmin site.
You can find good information including phpMyAdmin wiki there.

True. You'll find complete information on their website.
