Default Unlimited DB's?

When you get your vps server here is there any limit to how many data bases you can have or do you get unlimited data bases? I don't know that I will need a whole lot, but it would be nice to know that I have room for expansion as well.

Hello,

If you are looking My SQL database onVPS then you can create unlimited databases but all you have to do is watch your VPS disc space and bandwidth. If you are going with Ms SQL then you can create unlimited databases but the size of each database should not be exceed more than 4 GB...........

Hello,

There are no such restrictions with our vps hosting packages. You can host unlimited My SQL and MS SQL Databases. Please be advised, you will need to watch your disk space and make sure you don't exceed your disk space resources. If you need additional Hard Disk on the VPS, you can always upgrade to a higher configuration VPS Hosting Package without any upgration charges.

Regards,

Shane Phillips

I highly doubt your database will be over 4GB or even 1GB for that matter unless you were running an extremely large website that contained thousands of articles so you shouldn't have a problem with the given disk space.

Each site needs it's own database, correct? What about with sub-domains? For example, I'm working on a bunch of niche blogs which will be on sub-domains on my generic sounding main domain name. Would each sub-domain need it's own database?

Yes you are right each site needs it's own database and if you have installed blogs on sub domains then also it will create separate database.

Default Hi,

When we were faced with database archiving issues for Tier 1 storages, we carried out an internal analysis on the data value of present enterprise data stored in the application databases. We realized that proactive data archiving and migration to Tier 2 storages will work in favor of improving application performance. Also, database archiving helped sort out regulatory compliance issues faced by the organization.

Unlimited, I like it. I usually only have one data base per site, I will have one for the cms app that I use and then that it is. However, this is still good to know.
