Default No virus can hit the LINUX OS?

Does anyone here know it?
no virus can hit the LINUX OS, is that true?

Ya its true that linux is completely free. This is the main reason why linux has demanded by everybody. Linux is widely used nowadays in many organisations, offices, schools, colleges etc.

Well, Linux is a OS and definitely has a factor of getting affected by Virus, the same way a Windows OS gets affected. The main difference would be the Linux is a Open-source whereas Windows is not a Open-source project. However, they both work on a hardware machine.

In the case of both, if proper care are not taken then, there might be a risk, so take care.
