I've been told recently that you can add some commands inside the .htaccess file in the root directory of your site. Can someone provide a little more info on this? Thanks.

Adding code in the .htaccess file is used to control server settings. It is meant for code savvy customers to have easier and more straightforward solution for controlling the server.

Don't bother with .htaccess file because you have all the settings in your hosting control panel. Only if you need to set some advanced commands do you have to edit this file, which probably will never happen.

Thank you Crazzy, that is good to know. I will investigate some more about that Apache language and learn useful commands for my web site.
