Post Linux File Server

A Linux file server is usually called a terminal server and it is extremely helpful for doling out and serving data files and applications to computers that are connected to the Linux terminal server. For example, let’s say there are 20 computers in an office. In a business environment, certain individual computers often need to access the data files, same applications, and internet. A terminal file server or Linux File server then creates a network of these 20 computers in which you don't have to rely on each individual computer to have their own application files and data files. All files and applications can be stored on Linux terminal File server.

A Linux Terminal file server requires less maintenance and computer upgrades of your individual computer. It makes configuration much easy because it is all done on a centralized server. Linux terminal file server also reduces the cost of buying individual software products since Linux is open source. Creating the terminal file server and loading, it up with open source is free.

I thought terminal server was a Microsoft term for there early NT remote logins? Maybe they both use this term for both or maybe I am more confused than I know.

Yes you are right terminal server was earlier used by Microsoft for remote NT logins, but as NT is not any popular these days the term is used for Linux file server.

Linux has really improved since it came into existence. There are many more benefits of Linux in comparison to Windows. Terminal services can be really useful as many of the users can connect to it at a single point of time performing different tasks on it.

Windows is available with three default connections if you wish to add more connection then you definitely need Terminal License.

Correct. If you need more RDP connections at a single point of time you will need a Terminal license. The charges depends on the number of extra RDP connections you wish to have.
