Reseller Hosting – Benefits or Features
Hi
What you would like to see in reseller hosting; features or benefits? I was wondering that everyone's thoughts their own web hosting services, but then the most usual question comes in their mind, what should I do to promote my own hosting business on the Internet. Should I promote only features or benefits or simultaneously both?

A keen observation on hosting industry is required here. According to my experience I have seen many leading hosting companies promote their business by promoting only features what they offers. Actually this make a real sense, because that is what people would like to see when they looking for a hosting services.

On the other hand in the corporate internet marketing world, usually it is all about benefits. So as per the users points of whether or not this would work in the hosting industry. It is obvious that people would like to see disk space, bandwidth, control panel, etc. However, if you promote your business with benefits along with features you will get better conversion.

It also depends on what kind of marketplace you are targeting. If the your targeted audience is non technical, they would usually like to see only features and cost rates, that is it. Other side is totally different, when your targeted customers are knowledgeable and well known about hosting technology, they will prefer your company's quality, response time, tech support availability and reliability.

Usually reseller web host promote only features, because their targeted audience is the general public, which normally prefer shared packages. While large hosting organizations emphasize reliable technical support with 24/7 availability, because the user who is looking for dedicated web server or cloud or load balanced server hosting solution usually consider as a knowledgeable in hosting field. Therefore, to attract potential big customer they prefer different approach.

In terms of corporate marketplace or general marketplace usually features make e impact than benefits. Free set up, hassle free migration process, complete management, guaranteed up time and so forth. Defines all the benefits in brief and that would definitely attract more customers.

In my opinion it all depends on customer's eduction. Web host usually advertise essential factors what they offer. There is a little boundary between benefits and features. Indeed for easy analysis focus should be on features rather than benefits. The absolute number of features reduces the requirements for explaining the hosting benefits. As a web host you can describe each benefits of your hosting services in short by using features.

Are you sure that works? Perhaps it works or perhaps not. People who have a good technical knowledge would like to go in deep to analyze the performance of company , but this also fact that most of the people tend to be only on features. All it depends on the customer base, so you need to make things little bit simple to understand that is it.

It is not necessary to assume that customers only see the features. I have seen many customers want to know real achievement of your network up-time. They would also like to know hardware configuration of servers, CPU model, HDD type whether it is RAID or normal SATA, etc.... and answering that with by using words like “you will never face any down time and our servers only hosted on branded hardware chassis won't work with everyone, but sometimes it works with some people so it's depend on customer's eduction.

I think it is good to be more focused on features if the targeted customer base rely only on features, but you need understand that other hosting providers also use the same strategy so if you do the same thing like others do then you can only compete them on price factor. So choice is yours
