I am going to start forum for my web site, but I am in bit confusion about forum software. Which forum software should I prefer? I am looking forward to your recommendations for forum software.

I am using PHPBB and IMHO I am really satisfied with its performance as compare to other alternatives, which I've used in past. PHPBB has many features and it's a powerful software and you can easily integrate it with your website. :drunk:

As for what I've experienced vBulletin is well reliable and flexible for me. I did a comparison between PHPBB and vBulletin and find many features which I'd like to utilize in my forum, specially for a thread mode.

Regarding to my experience there is no forum software which is the best performer, but if you want to go with freeware software, I'll suggest choose SMF, which comes with themes, fast message database, file attaching system, mod installation manager, and the most important secure.

You need to also add IPB Forum software in your list. IPB is the leading forum software, which comes with astonishing features such as integrated blog, commerce, photo galleries, and chat (20 user). On the other hand it is not cheap, therefore regarding to price factor it looks bit expensive, but if you want features and performance IPB is the best solution.
