Default Hosting WAP Sites

Does anyone host sites that are specifically for WAP browsers anymore? It seems that most people now have mobile browsers such as Opera and Safari, so is there any point in designing WAP sites?

I would say they are still in fact in demand. Just because there are some types of new technology or scripting etc doesn't mean that there aren't others who still use WAP.

You'll still find some sites hosted for WAP browsers, however, the frequency of hosting sites for WAP browsers is reduced now.

How would one go about redirecting a WAP browser to a WAP version of the site, as opposed to them automatically trying to see a site that isn't suited to their browser? Can you detect the browser and re-direct?

I know a good many people "back in the day" used Wapsilon or something similar to that and they provided a script to redirect automatically. It was something like wappy or wappie that would redirect you might Google that and see what you come up with maybe.
