Default Questions about Contracts

I've got a few questions about Bodhost's hosting services...

Are there any recurring fees, other than the monthly price? Can I end my contract at any time, and if so, are there fees associated with that? If I were to move to another host, what would happen to my content?

Thanks for your time.

How odd is it that I haven't even thought for a moment about any of this? ;) I've been so pleased with the customer service and responses here on this forum that it never occurred to me to ask anything about contracts. Good questions!

I agree that the service has been pretty amazing so far, and I don't have any complaints. Part of the reason that I'm bothering to ask is that I'm sure at this point that I can expect a straight-forward answer. I appreciate not having to dig through fine print. :D

There are no contracts and you can pay monthly. You can cancel the hosting plan anytime.

Let me know if you have more questions

Thanks for the fast response. Just one more question off the top of my head: how long before the next recurring payment (I assume the payments are recurring...) should I give notice of my intention to move to a new host to avoid being billed for the next month?

Nice to hear, such a relief. I thought there for a few moments that there may be some extensive contract to sign and that isn't something I'm interested in doing.

When you select the monthly billing cycle, you need to pay each month. We only recommend canceling with the old hosting provider after all your websites have resolved from the new server. When everything is running from the new servers, you can cancel the old hosting account and cancel any subscription payments you have set.

That is a nice tip to post for all to see, I hadn't really thought much on the one site I have already and trying to transfer it. I think I'll probably do away with that site as I had no clue what I was doing with it anyhow, but I hadn't even considered needing to leave the hosting with the other host until the complete transfer.

We recommend keeping the old account running until the website resolves from the new server fully. That way, the website faces almost no downtime since it keeps resolving from either of the servers.
