Yes, unmetered bandwidth is very different from unlimited bandwidth. Unlimited bandwidth simply can't exist — it's impossible. Unmetered bandwidth, though, is possible because there are limits placed on it. All it basically means is that your bandwidth usage isn't monitored, but that there are speed caps in place that limits just how much bandwidth can be consumed.
Unmetered bandwidth is usually capped at either 10Mbps or 100Mbps, though there are higher caps. Say for example you have an unmetered bandwidth plan at 10Mbps. You are theoretically able to transfer as much data as you can at that speed (10Mbps) without worrying about monthly overages.
