Adult site hosting?
I’m curious, is it really that hard to get an adult site hosted? And if so why? Is there some kind of security issue or traffic issue that makes hosting an adult site more complicated?

Definitely Not.
Basically, hosting adult websites that have contents below the age of 18 or child porn are not allowed. Other than that, you shouldn't have a problem in hosting an adult website.

Oh I see... So the only sites that have trouble finding hosting are the illegal ones? Otherwise, standard adult site hosting is just as easy to maintain as any other type of site?

Probably one of the reasons why many hosts don't accept adult sites is that they (the site) are often the target of hackers or DDoS attacks. That shouldn't be an issue here if your site is legal, though, since BODHost has effective DDoS protections in place.

Wow, I’ve never thought about the obstacles associated with Adult websites, other than the standard legality of them. Well, at least I don’t have that worry.

Well, I don't think and adult content site is right for everyone. However, I can see the dollar signs in this type of content. I think as long as the owner isn't scum and keeps it legal, there should be no problem finding a hosting company to manage them.

I think there is good money to be made in an Adult type site. The only problem I see is that the internet is so saturated with these types of sites, getting one to the top ten search would be difficult.

I'm assuming warez and such are sort of grouped together with adult?

Not always. Warez is always illegal, but there are adult sites with legal content. That's why even hosts that accept adult sites don't accept warez sites.

Yes, that's correct. Warez, Warez linking, hacking contents are not allowed to be hosted on servers. However, you can host legal adult content.

Adult hosting is very easy to find, as adult hosting is not illegal in any way and users who complain about it are simply ignored. The only time it's not okay to have adult content on a host is when its specifically stated. I have had several users try to claim child pornography on non-nude pictures, or random complaints about not giving consent etc to have the pictures online - unfortunately these users do not understand the law is not in their favor unless you are hosting child porn.

Well, child porn and other illegal adult content is definitely not allowed to host with a legal hosting provider.

"Warez" refers primarily to copyrighted works traded in violation of copyright law. It means, something that is copyrighted and you publish it on your site, violating the copyright law.

I know that some places refuse to host any adult content (for fear it could be child related, or not), they just do not want to deal with the fuss of it. You gotta give credit though, for the places out there who do allow hosted (legal) adult themed content (of any sort) they still understand the risk they take when they host a high risk website.

I was just about to ask the same. I've heard the term often but since I'm dedicated to using only legal content I never thought it was something that referred to me and now I know. thanks for asking!

Hmm I was under the impession that most any adult site would be horribly hard to host anywhere. Its nice to know that it wouldn't be, if I were to ever choose that type thing to work with.

That was kind of the impression I had as well. I always thought there would be issues with anything that required users age 18 or 21 or over just mainly due to the type of content and moral reasons.

As did I. Its nice to know that BodHost is dedicated to their clients and not judging on what they do host so long as it is legal. I've saw many who weren't so kind and helpful.
