Fedora is giving me a touch of versionitus

I started my account here at bodhost with Fedora FC6 and now Fedora is up to version 9 :p
This is in no way a fault of bodhost but an issue with Fedora... there have been some subtle improvements in newer versions of Fedora that are not added to Fedora 6. I suspect that Fedora 6 will have future unaddressed issues and that support for the FC 6 version are waning.
I suggest bodhost consider Ubuntu 8.04 LTS as one of the possible Linux VPS server OS's they use.
I like the guarantee of support for a long period of time, this is an issue I have with Fedora and all the versions released since I originally opened my account with bodhost.
I have been testing out the latest Ubuntu server locally for about a month. I like that I can manage to get the non free JDK installed and can run some java servers within 256 MB of memory. I found I could get around the Gui issue by installing a minimal non boot start copy of XFCE4.
So I get a lot of features and more recent software without need to consume disk space compiling and I don't have to use unsupported software repositories to get the latest patches and security updates packages.
I suppose I could go on but I think I made my point I would be happy to blow away my copy of Fedora 6 for a new copy of Ubuntu server. I currently don't have CPanel, the Vituozzo panel, or any other web control panel installed. I manage pretty well just using some of Webmin and commandline via ssh.
Thanks
