overselling any good?

Do you guys think overselling is a good trick? How many of you prefer to oversell resources on your server ?

it is not a good idea to oversell hosting and it can cause issues for your server.

You'll find that there are many users on one oversold web hosting server will affect on the reliability of the server. Server will incredibly slow and that the server itself will often crash because it is unable to manage with the number websites and accounts that it is hosting.

There are a lot of web hosting companies who claim to offer their clients with unlimited bandwidth and diskspace, but in reality there isn't anything known as unlimited. It is just a trick to influence people and make them register for the services.

Though overselling does help web hosting companies to earn more profits, but at an expense of customer satisfaction and customer service. Hosting your websites with such hosting provider, can cause some serious damage to your website(s) in terms of rankings and availability. Hence it is recommended to look for a reliable host who would even in your expense can take care of your online venture.
