Can someone tell me what plan would be good for a website that will have a forum. The forum will discuss on games. Will a shared plan be enough taken into consideration the growth will be very rapid.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting BODHost Forum

Yes, a shared hosting package should be sufficient to run a basic gaming discussion forum.

If required, you can always upgrade in the near future.

Make sure that you consider the shared hosting plan from a hosting provider who allows easy upgrades so that you can upgrade your hosting plan whenever you wish to do that if your site needs more resources in future

I was thinking of a VPS. I don't really want to upgrade when the website grows and mess around with the migration stuff. I cannot afford any downtime for my website.

If you know your website will grow very rapidly, VPS is the way to go. You won't need to upgrade for a while then.

I agree with that. If you expected that your website will immediately outgrow your hosting server capacity, it would be better to go for a VPS right way, especially if the forum were only part of your main website.
