Default Password protecting pages

I have a personal site that has some general information and so would like to password protect certain directories. How do I go about doing that?

Absolutely, if you are using cPanel as the control panel. You have an option to set password for specific directories. No one is able to access those password protected directories unless you assign logins to them.

Its very simple to do. Are you using cPanel now or something else as a control panel? The steps are pretty simple, but I would need to know which CP you are using before I could advise you.
