If the websites are already popular or you expect them to grow fast, the best option is to consider a VPS plan. You can have good amount of resources there and some % can always be kept free in case of spikes in usages.

However, if they are not very popular or you've just started with them, a reseller plan would be fine for now.

You can consider a VPS hosting plan with a hosting provider who allows easy upgrades so that you can upgrade your VPS at any point of time if your requirements increase.

Also, as you will get root administrator access to the VPS, you will be able to install the applications you need easily

Yes, I am also thinking of a VPS. 1 of the forums and 1 joomla site is very popular. so vps will be good. I am also expecting the sites to become more popular and also in process of adding some new websites to the server which will grow fast. should i directly consider a dedicated server?

You can start with a VPS, ofcourse a one that comes with enough resources. Later, when the need arises upgrade to a dedicated server.

You will be able to upgrade your VPS and choose a dedicated server at any point of time.

Also, if you upgrade from VPS to VPS or VPS to dedicated server, you do not have to worry about migration as our technical support dept. will take care of it
