Can someone please explain about EPP key to me. How can I find the EPP key for my domain names? Can my domain names not be transferred without this key.

EPP key also known as Authorization Code, is required when transferring domains from one registrar to another. All generic TLDs including .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, as well as country level domain extensions need an EPP key.

You can obtain the key by sending an EPP request to your registrar. Generally, the domain provider will send it via email at your Administrative Contact email address for the domain name.

EPP key or Authorization Key is actually required to lock the domains and it is needed for the security of the domain so that no other person can transfer the domain and claim it.

It is advisable that you do not reveal the EPP code of the domain name to anyone and always exchange or provide the EPP code of the domain via Email for security purpose
