Is it possible to have SSL on multiple sub domains with a single certificate ? I have multiple sub domains so will I need to buy certificate for each sub domain ?

That's right. It will cover all of your sub-domains. However, please be advised that all sub-domains should share the same base domain name and all of those should reside on the same server.
