Default Help switching over from old host

Two questions!

One - are you guys able to switch accounts/files over from old host to Bodhost or is that a job for the account holder?

Been having a few problems with my current host and they haven't really been bothered to look into fixing my site, yet when I uploaded it to another temp host as an experiment, it worked fine, so figure it's time for a new host and you guys look like fitting the bill!

Two - if I don't go for CPanel, what is the default option and is it easy enough to carry out admin tasks in a non-CPanel environment?

Hi,

Welcome to Bodhost forums

With regards to your questions -

1. If the control panels remain same, we can take care of the migration of accounts. As of now, we offer cPanel and Plesk. cPanel to cPanel will copy over complete data. Coming to Plesk, different versions of Plesk may not allow to copy over complete data.

2. We highly recommend having cPanel with your server, assuming you'll go with one of the Linux Plans. cPanel is quite user-friendly and designed to make administration of accounts easy.

What control panel are you using with the current host ?

Default As a valued customer, I was happy to have mine switched.

I switched services almost a year ago and I'm to say that bodhost is a wonderful webhost that will take care of all of your side problems.

Yes, we always assist customers with the migration or any sort of server side problems as we provide fully managed servers

Default good recommendation

I should add that I agree about going to cPanel from cPanel. I've been a big Plesk fan for years (mostly so I wouldn't need to learn a new one or change), but I've run into many migration problems with Plesk.

Totally agree! Plesk is no better than cPanel when it comes to migrations.

Thumbs up

It is easier to migrate the hosting account if cPanel control panel is available as one can take the backup of the entire account through cPanel control panel and then he can provide the hosting company with the download link for the backup and then it is possible to restore the backup in the new hosting account

Hope this helps....

Well, Plesk is also a great control panel and the process of migration is almost the same as cPanel i.e. you can take the backup of entire account through Plesk and you can restore the backup in the new hosting package.

When it comes to migration, it basically depends on the way the migration is done and hence it is important to make sure that the migration is done by someone who is well experienced in handling the migration process
