Emails allowed
On your hosting, does the number of emails one can have per domain or per hosting account, vary? Or are there set limits per type of hosting or number of domains. I didn't quite understand what I read in the terms.

Yes, we have set the limit on our hosting plans. The limit is per hosting account. On VPS you can send 500 emails per hour whereas on Dedicated Server, you can send 3600 emails per hour. Please free to ask if you have any more questions

The limit is domain based.

I'm actually a little confused reading this thread myself. So the limit on emails a VPS can send in an hour is not 500 total, but 500 per domain the VPS hosts?

That's right. Each domain has its own email limit of 500 in case of a VPS.

Okay, but how would that stop spam? If I was a spammer (which I'm not) I would spoof the email addresses (the domain) anyways. Thus, easily sending every email with a different address.

Bulk email generally consists of sending the same message to some number of recipients at the same time. Spam is characterized as sending bulk mail to recipients. This results in blacklisting of the IP or domain that is used for sending mails. Getting the IP unblocked has never been an easy task.

Ok so just a recap for my small brain today, I can send 500 emails per hour from one domain so if I have 700 on my newsletter I could send 500 one hour and 200 the next. Simple enough, I think.

Yes, you are right! You can list them in two sets. So, within 2 hours you can send 700 emails and at the most 1000 emails.

Do you mean that if suppose I own a Linux VPS, I host about 20 domains on it then I can send 500*20=10000 emails per hour?
Not sure, if I can. Could you let me know?

Nope, if you have a Linux VPS, you will be able to send 500 emails per hour in total for all the domains
The reason we have certain limits on sending emails on all our Servers in the fact that we want to keep the hardware of the server new so that it performs well for all our customers

I had never heard that before. It is nice to know that this company thinks in terms of the future and not just now. It shows how dedicate you are to maintaining customer satisfaction. Adding another star beside my Bodhost notes!

There are all types of things that ago on behind the host's door that we aren't aware of. I've been doing some reading up on these things and I tell you these people must be smart to do it all!

Thank you for the appreciation
We certainly think of the future and the kind of performance servers should offer to our customers, now and in future as we always think of maintaining long term relationships with all our customers
Customer satisfaction has always been the prior motive of BODhost and hence we always look forward to offer the best deals and services to all our customers

Well, when it comes to hosting providers, we are not sure about the policies of other hosting providers and hence we do not believe in commenting on them.
However, when it comes to BODhost, we always make sure that we provide all the information if we are asked for it

That size is bigger than I thought
Just writing to say that the emails per hour is a lot more than I thought they were which is totally fine. I guess I'm going to have to try and send out more at a time to maximize my revenues...

If you wish to send more emails, you can consider our dedicated servers as you will be able to send 3600 emails per hour with our dedicated servers
