Default Domain with Bodhost.com

This maybe a silly question but...

When I choose a domain name and it gives you two boxes separated by a dot, do I need to put the www. in the first box or is that taken for granted?

For example, would I write "www.domainname" in the first box and then "com" in the second

or

"domainname" followed by "com"?

You don't need to give the WWW part, only the name.
But presumably if you do add it EUK will know what you mean, and register your domain correctly.
