Hi,

It has always been difficult for those who run gameservers to know how much bandwidth is the game consuming. In middle of the month when the business is at its boom, "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" message appears on the webpage and forces to miss the level of tolerance.

I would like to know if there is any tool available in the market which allows us to calculate the exact bandwidth usage.

Yes, you can even calculate the total bandwidth usage from the Control Panel. If you need to know the usage for an particular game or program, you can find many Bandwidth Calculator Tools on Google and install them on the server.

Are such third party Bandwidth Calculator Tools are reliable and shows you accurate figure ? I haven’t tried any one yet.

Even I haven't experienced any such bandwidth calculator. I think its reliability and accuracy can be answered by someone who has experienced any such bandwidth calculator tool.

You will find many applications available on the Internet to calculate Bandwidth of your Game server. However, most of these applications can only give you a rough estimate and you shouldn't rely on these kind of applications. Also, installing this kind of application can cause many problems to your Server and hence it is not recommended to install these kind of applications on your game server. You should make sure that the source from which you have received this application is genuine.

Practically there should not be any adverse effect on the performance of the server, but such softwares might hamper the security of the server as some of these softwares needs mod_security to be disabled. Disabling it might invite problems in terms of security of the server.
