Well it is true that Joomla websites face constant intrusion and hacking attempts with many of the hosting companies. This is because of the poor security settings on the server. Also the code of Joomla CMS is insecure. We know that 777 permissions make the code executable by any user. The files and folders on the server of many hosting providers are injected because of these permissions. BodHost has updated mod_security rules on our servers that filter such invalid arguments passed by the intruders. So you are safe to host Joomla Sites here.

Indeed, that is true. However, we have to make sure we take all the security measures on servers in order to avoid any threats.

Yes, people using Joomla often face this issues. It is always recommended to check for the latest versions of Joomla and the extensions you're using. Most of the issues happen to be when clients aren't using updated versions.

Also, remember to make a regular backup of your website.

Hi Andy,

Generally Joomla will show you a message saying a new version or update has been released, you should then consider updating it.

You should be very careful while using Joomla since it's prone to getting hacked. And ofcourse don't forget to backup regularly!

Hmm, I had no idea that Joomla websites were so untrustworthy.

If you take the preventive steps, it shouldn't be an issue working with Joomla. Joomla has a e fan following no doubts!

A member of the public was informing the admins on their very own forum of these joomla security problems - Can you believe it! You'd have thought they'd know about it first...

Yea, I had a serious problem with security and had to visit a few forums only to find out that my problem wasn't so rare. Not the most trustworthy choice.

Actually, it sounds like BODhost staff already knew about Joomla's security problems. They did say, in fact, that they've been taking security measures to avoid any threats. In any case, it's up to the client themselves to make sure that any software they install is secure and up to date. If you're being lazy about keeping yourself safe, then don't blame your host. :P

Yeah, people should be responsible for their own site — it's even in the TOS of practically every web host. No web host, not even a managed web host, can protect you if you ignore even the most basic of security rules.

The most basic example is Hyper-VM and their ignorance to bugs. I suppose you might have heard about the mishap. Well, anyways we won't discuss on it much.

Running a Joomla based site with Magento Shopping cart.

Keep it updated with the latest updates and I have never had a problem.

We're up to 500+ products so far without any hacking attempts.

Bodhost take good care of us. I've never had a security issue ever.

My dedicated server however runs chkrootkit to ensure no security issues and posts an email to me daily.
