Default Keep my existing Registrar

Hi, I would like to get the load-balanced dedicated servers solution but I want to keep GoDaddy as my domain registrar, and only point the NS records to Bodhost, is that possible?

Are there any "negative" effects so keeping my registrar with GoDaddy in this case?

Thanks,
Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey,

Yes you can keep your domain with the current registar. Only you will need to update the Nameservers pointing towards your server with bodhost. There is no negative effects in keeping your domain with Godaddy. If you need any further clarification or more details regarding load balanced server or domain you can contact sales department through Live chat, help desk or Phone support.

You can surely keep your domain name registered with another domain name registrar and update the nameservers to host your websites on servers of BODHost. It does not have a negative effect but if you keep the domain names registered with your web hosting provider then it is quite easier to manage the domain names and the web hosting package.

You don't need to have your domain moved to a new registrar to get the server. All you need to do is point to the nameservers that you need to point to and all is done. There shouldn't be any negative effects from doing this

As happynerd said, all you need to do is to go into your godaddy account and edit the nameservers, simply put the values for the bodhost nameservers in there and save it, it can take upto 48 hours for the change in nameservers to propagate round the internet, so I would tell the people who visit your site before you change it, just to let them know that your site may be down for a couple of days.

You can also Update your nameservers on your own if you have been given those privileges by your domain name registrar. It is better to ask a Domain name registrar if they give this kind of access if the domain name is registered with them.

I am glad that I read this thread, I was reading another thread and it sounded like you had to transfer the domain to a new registrar. That is good to know that you do not.
