Just been wondering what most of us look for while searching for a hosting company?

It's certainly a combination of all the given factors which most people look for. However, it would be interesting to know what most of us have on the top of the list.

24/7 Technical support (Includes managed hosting, 24/7 support via live chat, emails & Phone support)
Uptime guarantee.
Loads of features.
Cheap hosting.
Others. (please specify in this thread)

In case I have missed out any important factor, please let me know and I will add it up.

That's basically exactly what I look for in a host as well!

Though I take care when looking at reviews, as some are just personal issues with billing that customers take to the extreme.

Server location of the web host is also a criteria that may help you to decide between your web host.

Technology -- If the company offers services with the latest technology.

Knowledge/Expertise -- If the company has a strong knowledge-base / forums on the website.

According to me, The reviews of the hosting company say it all, If the reviews about them are good, I dont think that any hosting company will switch off their business.

even my votes goes for 100% uptime and 24/7 technical support these two features cant be compromised at any cost .................

When it comes to choosing a web hosting provider, I would highly prioritize 24/7 support. While you should obviously make sure you get the features you need, and of course guaranteed uptime, you also need to be assured that the company you select will be available for you whenever you have questions or concerns—be it midnight or midday.

Do they offer fast connections?

Do they have a back-up system in place to protect your data in case there is a power outage?

To be very honest web host should offer something different that no one else does (what that is who knows ). As for now, I would say 24/7 customer support, and loads of features are more important.
