Which web servers do you like?
There are more web server software than just Apache and IIS, though those are the two most popular. There are other web servers out there — mostly for Linux — and I've made this poll to find out which one you think is best.
The choices so far are Apache, Litespeed, lighttpd, and nginx. I'm also including IIS to represent Microsoft servers.

I never really thought of what kind of web server I was using. I just ask for Linux and use whatever default web server is installed. I guess that's Apache, so that'll be my vote. Never even heard of the other ones on this list, really. :P

We support Apache and IIS servers, so my preference undoubtedly is Apache and IIS

As far as my experience is concerned, I think Apache is the most reliable as well as the fastest webserver. You can install it easily on any server, In addition to this Apache is an open source so it is constantly being modified to best suit the qualifications for the best possible webserver.

One more vote for Apache Webserver. The most commonly used webserver in my experience is Apache. It is more reliable than any other webservers. Even, most of the hosting companies provide Apache only. It is regularly updated and as it is open-source, no one has to pay for updating the version.

Apache all the way.
I also checked lighttpd though. I think lighttpd is great if you have a server that doesn't have a lot of resources. For example, I have a little embedded device at home that only has a 266Mhz cpu and 32MB of ram, so lighttpd really helps.
When limited resources are not a factor though, Apache is the best option out there for anyone.

Glad to know that I share my vote with most of the voters voting for Apache
Apache has been a web server in the hosting industry from quite a long time and hence it is the most reliable and preferred web server. It's not only the time it has been in the hosting industry for which it is preferred as a web server but also the performance and the stability it has and it offers

I mainly use Apache because thats what my webhosting service offers. I've also used IIS to help with my friend's dedicated webhosting. It looks like Apache is going to be the most popular choice for a long time.

Apache is certainly the best web server in the web hosting industry as for now.
The reason I prefer Apache is due to the fact that the administration of Apache is very simple and it is very easy to edit the configuration files as they are in ASCII and can be edited using a simple text editor.

Alike most of the users here,I too would vote for Apache as it is reliable and there is a lot of documentation available online.IIS too is a good option, but I somehow tend to like Apache more than anyone else.

Well, there is no specific information about the updates done by Apache (as far as I know ), however, I had read somewhere that Apache updates it's version every month

I have worked with Apache whole my life, although my first hosting server was IIS. There is a little difference between them, mainly in functionality.

You are most
Certainly. Apache is the most reliable web server for Linux platform and as it has been used from a long time, it has been found that it does not have any problems whatsoever with the installation, configuration or performance

Can someone tell me more about Apache? I'm not familiar with it or Linux. That is a whole new world to me right now. Is it simple to learn and figure out?
