I think one way links are supposed to be the way to go. Either that or three way linking has become quite a fad thing lately. I think if anyone really knew what google is pulling the puppet-strings for us to do for them next, we'd do that too.

Three-way linking handshake is definitely advantageous. Also, most important is how much you contribute for the searches and increase domain popularity.

The way you should like your websites totally depends on you and the content of each website you have. If you have your websites based or related to the same topic then you can have them linked with each other which may help you in getting better rankings for your websites and more number of visitors for them. It is better if you get incoming links for your important websites as incoming links make a good effect on the rankings of your website.

Inter linking your pages and posts is very important, it surely helps you to increase search engine rankings. There are many ways you can use to improve internal linking on the blog and search engine rankings. Like:

1. Create a FAQ for your Blog
2. Use a sitemap
3. Write a series of posts.
4. Link the related posts.
5. Most popular posts should be linked on the sidebar.
6. Text links should be used throughout the post
7. Link should be added to the footer
8. on the error pages like 404 place links, as error pages are
frustrating.
9. Post a weekly or monthly summary of the posts on your blog
10.those who are using Wordpress can take advantage of aLINK plugin to
automatically create links for commonly used phrases throughout the
Blog.

The above given are good ways of linking within your own website. However, you should make sure that you do it correctly and do not mess up things as these techniques may create a lot of problems if you do not use them properly.

Thanks!

Correct. However, linking the pages within your website also helps.
