Another great tool is the drill press. A drill press can be used for several applications. Many times, an annular cutter is used while drilling into the side of a pipe for a fitting such as corporation, or the annular cutter can also be used for drilling into the side of a pipe where a piece of all threaded rod is to be mounted. After the hole has been drilled, a tap, from a tap and die set, is brought into the picture; another great set of tools that can be found in a machine shop. The tap and die is then used to create threads so that the all threaded rod can be mounted into the side of the pipe.
