What do you think about the signature used in forums? Are they important in terms of SEO.

The signature used in forums is as important as getting a backlink from a high PR sites. The signature in forums is considered as a backlink which thus helps in rankings and also traffic to a website. The main purpose IMO is getting a targetted traffic.

The users signatures is an important factor as long as the forum admin checks the option for them to be discovered by the search engines spider bots.
