Can a site be blocked at server level?

My friend is running cyber cafe & he want to block some pron site.:mad: :mad:
But should this be done at server level?
Anyone could give him some advice? Thanks ahead!

Do it on his proxy server.. or get a free proxy server like wingate.. it allows him to filter websites by specifying the IP address that he wants to block.

One advice for your friend is that he can block the ip address @ the local server which is distributing internet to other in the same premises.

You can easily get the ip address of porn sites using http://dnsstuff.com and then it can be blocked using firewall/proxy server if it is setup there.

Simply use a Good Firewall on your friend's cyber cafe server.
