There are many negatives in orkut if we look carefully. There is no privacy at all. Anybody can visit anybody's profile and spoil it. IMO, this is the one thing that which is quite disappointing.

i think orkut is a website, like hi5 were u make friends with people with similer tastes, but u dont meet them. Just like chat or mail, but u dont kno the person. Anyway, people say its dangerous, they can get u or ur computer into trouble, so be careful!!!

Facebook as a social bookmarking site is also an interesting one.

Orkut is good if you think it is. Friends meet on Orkut and many of them are those whom we have never met. This is good according to me. If you are staying in some other country i.e. any other part of the world you can know about the culture and the traditions of the other country and you can use this for your knowledge or any other purpose. It is also convenient to use orkut to contact your relatives who stay far away from you. It depends on you how you use Orkut. Also, now there are many features in Orkut which are pretty helpful for your privacy. For example, you can go to options and you stop the people whom you do not want to show your scraps. This makes it quite safer than before. It depends on you how you use Orkut and what do you feel about it. You can also choose some other sites like facebook which is also a good one.

Even privacy settings have now been enabled on Orkut which were missing earlier.

Orkut is a nice networking site to communicate with world. There are many helpful communities through which we can interact with people of same interest. Its a nice place to stay connected with your dear friends. Privacy setting is one of the key features which has been recently added in orkut.

I think Orkut has an excellent strategy to not to become a hype substance and fad soon. Orkut has taken the traditional “get mature and capture market share route” thereby slowly and steadily making its way by allowing users to build strong community.............
