What is Dedicated Server Hosting ?

A dedicated server means that the entire server is reserved exclusively for your own use. You will not be sharing the server space with any other sites or accounts, other than the ones you add yourself. If you do not need the entire server for yourself (or the price tag that comes along with it) you are best to select a virtual hosting account.

With a dedicated server, bandwidth is no longer an issue (which can be a problem with sites utilizing many downloads for visitors) and you are only restricted to the size of the actual server itself, not to a certain size which is normally allocated to a virtual hosting account.

With a dedicated server, many hosts offer both managed server plans and unmanaged server plans. If you don't know what you are doing, a managed server is the best choice, although it is the costliest.

With an unmanaged dedicated server, you have to keep track of updates and patches for your server. Failure to do so could result in hackers gaining access to your server.

Welcome to the forums witly. Ya its true that their lot of difference between the prices of managed and unmanaged dedicated servers.

Managed dedicated server help you to keep your server in top condition. The hosting company offers the best support and experts to maintain daily routines such as software upgrades etc.

This is not the case with Unmanaged hosting servers. Although support service is provided by hosting companies, you will probably have to pay for that service offered by the host from time to time.

IMO,its better to go for managed dedicated hosting than the unmanaged one.

As with any hosting package the value of a dedicated hosting service depends on the reliability and services of the hosting company. Whether it is a managed or unmanaged dedicated server if your website has grown to the point where you need dedicated hosting only then you need a hosting provider that you can rely on to keeping your site online for a much longer time.

Whether you choose managed or unmanaged hosting depends on the technical requirements of your site and the ability of you or your staff to manage a server so that it is running at peak efficiency. If you think that your staff are not highly trained for handling the server, go with the managed dedicated hosting. If your staff can handle the most of the server management then go with the unmanaged one.

, as far as i know all the dedicated servers that are hosted by Bodhost.com are fully managed and 24/7 monitored without any managing cost;) , so i guess all the new clients are assured of recieving the best hosting service and support.:D
