Yes, location makes a lot difference while choosing a web host, because there might be some hindrances when it comes to increase in miles.However,majority of customers want their servers to be located in US or UK.

The major factor in having a host in different contry is Date Format. Their are different formats followed by different countries in showing date, month and year. If your host is located in USA and you are in UK then the date displayed is shown in US format which is DD/MM/YY and not uk format MM/DD/YY. So this is the problem which is faced while hosting in different country.

This is certainly a major factor. It happened with my friend too.

Well, i still need to understand where does the format with mm/dd comes into the factor. It might be different by few days here and there, but we are speaking of distance and not time difference. They both are two different things.
