Default How Many Emails for Website?

How many emails are needed for a website? I can only think of two important emails that must be created for any websites. One is the admin email and the other is the support email. What other emails are important for a website?

It mainly depends upon the requirements. For e.g., if the website also offers billing of their product or similar, they would add billing@xyz.com

Don't forget to add sales@ and feedback@ to the list. Most of them also prefer using webmaster@ instead of admin@

We also have Careers and partners. But that is only if it applies to your Company.

You will need several email accounts if you are a hosting provider or a reseller. The more the products and services you offer, more the email accounts required ;)

Those are the primary email accounts you would need if you run a website. The other accounts you may need are info@yourdomain and yourname@yourdomain. It is recommended to use emails hosted on your own domain indirectly promote your own domain.

You may also need careers@ email address if your company needs or can provide jobs to capable individuals ;)

I agree with what's been said - you should have at least one email address for every major type of inquiry your visitors/customers might have. If you're operating a very small business, you can always have multiple emails forward into a single account (to make managing them all a little easier).

I think about 5 is a decent number but lets look at that. Most need at least 5, and I am only guessing here too.

billing@
admin@ (and/or webmaster@)
support@
name@ (this goes for Jim, Bob and Chuck who all work there, think at least 3)

Wow, I never thought that I would be needing these number of emails if I have my own website. Now that we have named the important emails that we should have, how do we maintain them? I mean is it alright to have the same password for all of them? And what about email spams, how can we avoid them?

Well, it is not recommended that you keep same passwords for all the email addresses as this would increase the chances of your email accounts getting hacked. You can keep different passwords for all the email accounts you have which would be a better option.

Most of the hosting plans are now offered with a spam filter and hence spams shouldn't cause a lot of trouble to you.

Also, if you find it difficult to manage all the email accounts, you can setup email forwarder to other email addresses and keep one primary email address so that you find all the emails in the inbox folder of that email address as said by Skipper

I can understand the desire to use the same password multiple times but if you think of each as a key to your possessions. Well you wouldn't want someone who found your car keys to have free run on your house, safe deposit box and camper, would you?

I guess I missed the email forwarder by skipper. That is really a great idea because I can make different passwords for each of my email addresses without recalling all of them because I only need to open one email.
