Long tail keywords
Long tail keywords are phrases consisting of three and four keywords which are very specific to products/services you are selling. Do you think they are better than short keywords in terms of optimizing your website?

Yes, Its necessary to explain your product and services in proper meaning with complete words and you can not do it with limited keywords, I would also like to suggest you to check the counts (no. of times a keyword is used in search engines) for the keywords you are going to use, you may find that for some specific type of services some long tail keywords have higher count than the short ones.

In SEO and SEM it would be unfair to say which one out of the two is better. Both ie. Long Tailed as well as short keywords are important inorder to get traffic to your website. The only difference is that long tail keywords can be powerful sources of search engine traffic for any site, due to the fact that these keywords have lower competition than short keywords.According to Google, 20-25% of searches haven’t been ever seen before. Now, that is Wonderful! This itself means that there are tremendous opportunities to get traffic with keywords that aren’t highly competitive!
Therefore if you are able to identify a list of few highly searched long tailed keywords, you can ensure good amount of traffic reaching your website.

You can increase the website traffic by Optimizing , long-tail keywords. But i think, it is not much better then short keywords.

IMO, short tail keywords and long tail keywords both are important because if we are working on short tail keywords we are targeting the traffic from the globe but if we work well on local or regional optimization (Long Tail keywords), we can probably generate better traffic from local or regional areas.
If you offer services that are generally required and don’t want to ship nationally, then long tail keywords optimization is the solution.

Long tail keyword phrases are most important in online business marketing, like the client whose requirement for product selling is depends on two terms and he believed that all his customers are focused on those two terms as well. Then the long tail keywords could be more beneficial for him.

Long tail keywords are used to define what is on the web page and what the publisher wants to be found under in search engines and on search engine results pages. so long tail keywords are three and four keyword phrases which are very, very specific to whatever your services and products and they describe it well. So it's better to use long tail keywords for your services and products. It offers more benefits then short keywords.

Unless it is something amazing and I mean blow your socks and shoes right off your feet, then no. A long time ago someone told me that you need to keep it short and sweet.

I don't think they are better, but they are more specific and more specific means than they will have less competition which means easier success.

They are easier to rank for because you don't have strong competition for them. But I don't see why you should avoid short phrases if you have enough experience, money and patience to chase after them.

both are a good way of driving traffic. But long tail keywords helps u to get targetted traffic to your site further reducing the bounce back ratio and helps you to be more visible in the eye of search engines. With small keywords you might drive more traffic but less conversion rates but with long tail keywords less traffic but with high conversion rates and also less bounce ratio of the customers.

That kind of depends who you are targeting. Do you want to reach a large audience which is using generic searchterms or are you interested in targeting a smaller group of people who are interested in a specific product?
for the latter group long tail keywords are better.

Long tail keywords are a type of keyword phrase that has at least three, and sometimes even five words of the sentence. Keywords Long tail is used when the website wants to fine tune search terms to the website and when the seeker is looking for something more specific. Like the regular keywords, the long tail keywords are used to define what is at the website and what the publisher wants to be found in the search engines and search engine results pages.
