Default Google.cn to be shut down

According to Google official blog, google is planning to shut down their services in China. They will no long continue to censor any results on Google.cn which they have said they will discuss with Chinese Govt. and operate an unfiltered search engine within the law. If the Govt. doesn't agree, they will possibly shut all offices in China.

This seems interesting and i think this could possibly affect searches in China.

Yes, this is a very shocking news not only for Google but all across the Globe. China has taken very strange decisions against Google. I heard that Google will face $600 billions loss if it pulls out of china. This is a worry for Google and the business outside china dependent on china market which rely on Google to bring them some business.

China has its powerful search engine baidu so I guess China will not step back.

I hope it settles down some where.

Yes, it will definitely affect the searches in China but I don't think they will discontinue their service in China because to lose such an important market as China must have been a tough decision.

I agree with Solomon buy shutting their office in China they will surely loose a lot of business, after all China is third largest market for Google after USA and India.

Thumbs down

google holds only 31% of chinese search market and china has a very strong search engine called baidu which have more than 60% share of chinese search market in my opinion china will not compromise and its 600 billion loss to google if it shuts down google.cn .
