Default Site Building Solution

How do you build your sites? Do you pay for designing: custom design or templates? Do yo use some solution that you got with your hosting package, like SiteBuilder?

I build sites myself from scratch. I start with empty notepad file, although I use Adobe Dreamweaver for some automated tasks like link checking. Buying templates is also OK, or using SiteBuilder, but since I already know how to do this, why spend the money?

I go for open source CMS for developing website. Currently I use Joomla, which is a great and powerful CMS, considering that it is free. I feel contented with it despite how difficult it is the make the URL of my webpages search engine friendly.

I code my sites by hand and do the graphics in Photoshop/Fireworks and other quality software for this purpose. But, when I do sites for others, I like to use WordPress or Joomla because it saves time considerably.

I'm not really a web programmer but I like to play with Dreamweaver. I have a considerable amount of webpages that I could compile them and create a website of mine.

I like using the Dreamweaver, it automates most of the tasks, but I don't like its design view since I have used to hand code by myself.
