Well, when it comes to "nofollow" backlink, it certainly has less importance in comparison to "dofollow" backlink, however, if you get "nofollow" backlink from a blog or forum, it does not mean that you won't get a benefit from it.
Hence, if you get "nofollow" backlink from a blog or forum which has a good amount of traffic, you should definitely try to get backlink from that blog or forum (if it is free ;)).

Agreed, Just need to take care that the information you provide on nofollow forums should be helpful and should leave an impact on readers that they click on your signature links.

IMO. commenting on no follow blogs would not bring traffic from the search engines but the blogs to which you have high traffic, you can get live visitors to follow the link to your website. Therefore, your comments should be useful to the visitors. This way you can build trust of the readers which can result into a better conversion rate and help to increase the word of Mouth about your products and services.

Completely agree with Carl. In terms of traffic, nofollow blog comments do help. If your comments are effective and useful to the post then readers may click on your link and visit your site to know more about you.

Hi,
Nofollow links are also useful when u will be elligible to use your signature to the threads you post or when u reply to the forums. Also nofollow forums brings more traffic to your site provided u have good content for readers. If dofollow links help you to get 30% of traffc, the nofollow forums will help you to drive 5% of the traffic with good content.
