Default External Memory Options

Can anyone tell me what my options are in regards to external memory sources? I'm quite certain I will need additional memory as my system is limited as is. Are external memory options the right choice or should I try to upgrade what I have?

I think you can use flash drives that use the USB port as external memory to store data. They come in bigger bytes (gigabytes) nowadays. Or you can install an additional internal memory card.

Oh really! I thought those were basically for photos or music and that was it. I wasn't aware that you could store other data on them as well. I have several of those laying around already, I just simply thought they were for photos and music! Wow I feel dense...

Basically any USB storage unit is a reliable external storage. I have a external harddrive of 250GB. I also use 2 flash drives. You can also use SD cards for storage if your computer has a slot for that. You can also get a case for an SD card so you can access it with a USB port.

Oh how neat! I wasn't aware that I could use my SD cards either. I'm just learning so much this week aren't I! ;) I'm going to start off trying to use the USB ones I have and see where that gets me. Thanks so much Windac!
