Default Computer acting weird

My computer started acting strange after visiting a site. I ran my anti virus to check if I had been infected but it came up negative. My system is still running slow though. I am using Macafee, what do you suggest?

You need to define "weird". If it's just slow, try cleaning up your temperary files and such. Use CCleaner for that. Maybe defragment your computer. Maybe your hardware is old and corrupt and not working the right way.

That's too bad, binary. If its running slower than it used to do, better do another virus scan with a different provider. There might be a new virus that your Mcafee did not recognize.

I like to do a scan with Housecall by TrendMicro any time my computer starts acting up. First I go to system & do a cleanup, then go to housecall and use their free scan it usually catches any viruses or trojans that others don't.

Ok, I will try that, it's just that McAfee has proven to be more or less reliable. But I will defrag and see what I come up with, then try the other suggestions.

I had to do that over the week with a friends computer (but it was a laptop), I am still lost trying to find out why Housecall kept disconnecting her machine. For me its the first thing I do after I take care of the less time consuming things on my main PC, then its off to the lovely world of Housecall.
