Is it that hard to make a website application (I think?) that would allow members to download music that has been uploaded from the web master? As in a local rock band or something along those lines, fully free of course, but pretty simple too?

Well, you will find many websites on the internet offering this kind of service which allow the users to download songs from the website which have been uploaded on the website

If you wish to have this on your website so that users can download songs for your website, you will have to upload the songs on your server and then some coding is to be done on your website so that when the user clicks on some icons or links on your website, the specific song is downloaded :D You will have to contact your web developer for this purpose

Thanks for the help on this one and I think the coding is going to be the hard part for this one. Now they decided besides random free songs, they want to use it also for their band, but they have no idea what format they might be using to record it to start with.
