Default RSS scrapers

I've had the RSS feeds for one of my blogs scraped for content by this unscrupulous character recently. My site wasn't the only victim, the guy also was scraping the feeds of several other blogs and was passing the content off as his own. Now, it's only happened once (that I know of), but if it's happened once, then it can happen again. So I'm wondering, is there any way to prevent websites from scraping your RSS feed?

I don't know of any way to prevent RSS scraping, unfortunately, but you can use Copyscape to search for sites duplicating your content and then send those sites a DMCA notice.

There are many programs which use the technique RSS scraping. These programs read the website and create the RSS Feed in the following way:

* Webpage = RSS Feed Item
* Webpage Title = RSS Item title
* Webpage Description meta tag = RSS Item description
* Webpage URL = RSS Item link.
