Default Website Traffic

I want to be able to track the traffic that's coming through my website. You know, I meant each section so I know what's attracting people and what's not. Is there any software package out there like that or can I write my own programs? Any help would be appreciated.

There are many website statistics tools available to check the traffic of your website or blog. Most of them will provide you information about the webpages and URL's of your website which are mostly visited.

Some of the website statistic tools available are AWstats, Webstats, Google analytics, statcounter etc. Most of these are free of charge while some requires licensing fee :o Some of these like Google analytics and statcounter provide a code and you will have to enter this code in your website and get the statistics for your website. You can also put this code in the webpage for particular URL to get information about the statistics of the particular URL. This can provide you more information about the URL and the webpage of your website which is mostly visited.

Well suggested by Carl here. All the above mentioned statistics tools are some of the most preferred and highly trusted one's. They provide almost exact statistics of the traffic to a website.

In use a combination of Awstats and Google Analytics for tracking website traffic. Awstats is useful for analyzing the raw data, so be sure to check it from time to time. Google Analytics, now... GA can be a powerful tool when used properly. You can even integrate it with AdSense (and also AdWords, I think) to help you manage your ad publishing and campaigns.
