Has anyone used YouTube to promote their site? I'm thinking about giving it a try as a mean of promoting it indirectly. It seems like it would be time consuming though.

Thousands have used YouTube and successfully promoted their websites. I for one have never tired it, but I've thought about it. Like you, I think it will require too much time, but one never knows till they try eh?

Never used YouTube for that purpose since my web site really isn't the kind that would be suitable for that kind of marketing. If your site is suitable, though, then I don't see why not. It's just another kind of social network, but with videos instead of tweets. And who knows? If you create an interesting video that goes viral, your site might really take off. :D

Well, you can upload a video on You tube with complete information on your website or if you offer any products on your website. That will definitely help in promotion of your website. Infact, we did upload videos of virtualization on VPS Hosting on youtube.
