Default Search Engine Spiders

I've heard very little about spiders. Do they work? I've also heard about Yandex and was wondering if anyone else has tried it to see if it works to raise your rating on the SE? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Search engine spiders are simply bots that crawl your website so that it can be indexed. You don't really have any control over what they do, except perhaps for telling what they can and can't index.

The reason it's important to learn about them is because search engine spiders view the web in a different way than we do, so we must know how to make our content accessible to them for SEO purposes. Here's a nifty tool that shows you just how a web spider views your site: Search Engine Spider Simulator.

About Yandex, all I found about it is that it's a Russian search engine. Is that what you were talking about?

I agree with Userdan. It's important to learn about the Search Engine Spiders. If you have more than one site, go to the link that userdan suggest and put in your url for each site. You will see what he means and how your different sites are crawled. Thus it will give you a little more knowledge on your site and what still needs to be done.

I use Search engine spiders and I find them to be very helpful. At least do a search and check some of them out.
