Default Websites for sale

I know that I have read in this forum (but I can't remember where) about someone who purchased a site that was already built and all they had to do was fix it to the way tat they wanted it. Where do I look for ready-made sites for sale?

You will find many websites which sell ready made websites. You will only have to search on Google (search engine for this purpose). However, we wouldn't suggest you to do this as if you purchase a ready made website, most probably, you won't get a website according to your requirements. Hence, it is better to start a website of your own.

For this purpose, you can contact a web developer and start working with him on the design etc. of your website. Then, you can purchase web space (web hosting package) for your website and then start your website. This would be a good option as you'll be able to develop your website according to you.

thank you Carl. Is a Website Developer very expensive? I'm sure it depends on how in depth the work is, but on average how much do they charge?

Well, frankly, We won't be able to inform you about the charges as that depends on the kind of web developer you choose and the type of task you wish to complete. I would suggest you to contact 2 or 3 web developers and check the kind of charges they have and also the experience they have in working as a web developer. Once you get the idea, you can choose one of them according to you.

I don't think after all the trial and error of building my site, I could ever sell it. It's like one of my kids and I can't sell my kids.

You can build a site fairly cheaply these days through outsourcing. May be going to a place like elancer.com would be a good start. There are quite a few people that would bid on the work you need done.

Well, I decided to sit down and learn the in's and out's of site development myself. As suggested, I went with Sitebuilder, I'm finding that it's very easy to use. So far, so good.

Buying a ready-made website can be expensive, especially if they include added value like good pagerank or a verifiable repeat income (meaning that the website earns good money per month). Most people who sell websites usually develop it to the point where the site appeals to buyers, and that drives the price up. If you're looking to start off with an already active website, then buying one is probably the way to go. If all you want to do is just start a website, though, then might as well start from scratch and learn as you go along.
