Does anybody know about "cloaking" in search engine optimisation?. Please suggest me regarding this.

Cloaking is a method used in search engine optimisation by website owners. They are able to provide different content to users. This content is different from which it is submitted to search engine spiders. This is done either by looking at the IP address of the user or looking at the user agent HTTP header.
It is considered as unethical but it is often used by website owners to increase ranking of a website. You may get penalized by search engines if found using this technique.

Cloaking is a process in which you are able to show different pages with dissimilar content to different users. In these circumstances the content of webpage is different from that which is submitted to search engines. The purpose of this is to show optimized pages to search engines.

What makes the basic structure of the world wide web –LINKS.
Some of them might provide you false leads, majority still leading you to the expected results. Whats the question is if integrity of the web link structure is doubtful, then the entire system has been compromised. The situation will be like you have taken a road and your not sure that whether it will lead u to ur destination on the map or not. It might be tolerable in the start but you don’t want to take a second guess for every other road u take.

Wide scale cloaking will soon render search engines algorithm useless. Users
wouldn’t come to know if the search results are accurate or not. Search
engines will be of no use if the links supplied by them result in false leads
and dead ends. And without search engines you know how difficult it is to
find your way around the world wide web.
