A problem has been preying on my mind ever since I learned SEO:
what is the goal for SEO?

higher rank might not direct to a better chance of making a sale, then what should we focus on?

When you speak about SEO, the goal can be achieving the rank, finding such search words or say keywords that can help you to bring visitors to your site. The goal can also be to not only bring visitors to your site but also to help you to convert them to the potential clients. Thus, bringing Qualified Traffic to your website is the main goal of SEO for business website.

Now, if we talk about sale then it is on your communication skills; if you offer online support then your goal should be customer satisfaction and if it is just a web page which customer visits and make a deal then your goal is to put your product across the client in such a way that the visitor shall sign up before leaving your site. Thus, communication skills can help you you to convert visitor into a new customer.

Frankly speaking, SEO is done so that your website ranks higher in the Search Engine for the keywords which are related to your websites topic i.e. niche. The reason for this is the fact that if a visitor finds your website with good rankings in the Search engine, the visitor will definitely visit your website and search for the products the Visitor needs and if the requirements are fulfilled, he may be your company's Customer. Also, if your website has good rankings in the Search Engine, it creates a positive effect on the Visitors about your website which surely matters.

In my opinion, the main purpose of SEO is optimizing a website according to the parameters declared by Search Engines. The SEO techniques help to achieve good rankings in SERP's. The only intention is, when a visitor is in search of some information or service, s/he should reach our website first, later if the visitor gets convinced about the service s/he can surely get converted into a customer.

To sum it up, SEO's basic purpose is to get good rankings in the SERP's.

That's correct. The main purpose of SEO is getting higher rankings in the Search Engines so that you get more Traffic on your website and have more Sales etc. You will get different results for different Keywords in the Search Engines and hence it is necessary for you to get good rankings for different keywords related to your niche in the Search Engines and this is the reason SEO is done.

Most of the people believe that the goal of SEO is only to achieve high ranking in search engine for some keyword but this mistaken belief can cause their efforts to fail before they’ve even begin their SEO campaign. According to me the main goal of your business is to make money. We can easily attract visitors to our websites but it is very important to provide quality service/product. Your business depends on the type of service you provide to your customers.

Quality is certainly very important when it comes to Online Business. However, driving Traffic to your websites is not so easy. It also requires a lot of Hard work. Using proper SEO Techniques is really important to bring targeted traffic to your websites.

Search Engines Optimization is definitely important to get Potential Customers as most of the People in the Internet Industry Search for Products and Services on Search Engines and hence it is the best way to get targeted traffic. Some of the people try to get Customers from Email Marketing which is certainly not the best option in order to get Potential Customers.

If you are Unsuccessful to Optimize your website using these Techniques then it might be possible that you are not using these techniques properly. Read the points given below :

1. Make sure that you use Correct Keywords and Submit your website into the Correct Categories while submitting your website into Directories.

2. Social Bookmark each and every link within your website to get best results.

3. Edit the Content of your Blog posts correctly and try to make Blog posts on New topics to attract more visitors to your Blogs. Also, make sure that you Link your Blogs to your Website pages according to the Topic and the Keywords used in the Blog posts.

4. Post into External Forums using Signature and you should try to provide more and more information to people by your Forum posts as your Forum posts may be liked by someone and they may visit your website.

That's correct Peter. I have just Explained the Techniques which were given previously for Website Optimization. Actually, the Techniques given are basic Techniques to Optimize your website and you will be able understand and work on More Techniques for Website Optimization if you Master these Techniques First. Hence, I would suggest you to Understand and Learn these Techniques Properly and then ask for other Techniques which would be a better option.

SEO is (in my opinion) only to get a higher ranking in the searches. No it won't get you more sales if you aren't doing your work on your site. However, you can't make any sales if the people aren't viewing your product and the more people viewing your site, the better chance that you'll make some sales. that is my opinion.
