Is meta tags still the most important factor in SEO?

SEO has become hard work nowadays. Google develops new technology and makes count for all the SEO efforts. You must gain best results by using all aspects of online marketing tools. But its better to have meta tags rather than bothering!!.

IMO, meta tags is not the only factor which is important in SEO but there are various factors which might be considered. They may help to rank well in all SE.

Its very difficult to predict the algorithms of search engines. But having all aspects in mind can be helpful to rank well in SE. I dont think that meta tags are given that much importance. IMO dont spend more time on meta tags. You can use them in spare time and keep them relevant to the page content as right use of meta tags is very helpful in SEO.

Google doesn’t use meta keywords in their indexing. It uses content
of a site instead of meta tags. Use of meta tags is followed by other search engines. So its better to make use of meta keywords to rank well in other search engines as well.

Application of meta tags is not a big deal and they CAN be ignored. Earlier meta tag had some importance but not now I suppose. In SEO off-page optimization should be done in a proper way to gain better results.

The <TITLE> tag is one of the most important things.

I agree, title tags are important. However, if you notice the algorithms of google are on its way for a new change soon.
